At the foot of the northern slopes of the Tabe massif, opposite the Château de Roquefixade, Nalzen is a commune with a strong forestry and pastoral tradition.
Surrounded by forests, Nalzen sits on the pass that separates the Lesponne valley from the Pays d'Olmes. The village was an ancient convergence center, serving as a staging post on the trade route between the Atlantic and the Mediterranean.
