Manses is a small village in the Cathar Pyrenees, in the north-east of the Ariège department. It had a population of around 146 in 2020.
Just a few kilometers from Mirepoix, in the small valley of the ruisseau des Bessous, bordered to the north by the immense Bélène forest, and wide open to the south towards the Hers river, with the St Barthélémy massif and the Andorran peaks on the horizon, the sunny village of Manses is dominated by a majestic Romanesque church.
