The ridges of the Plantaurel

The ridges of the Plantaurel

About

This path leads to the top of the hill overlooking Lavelanet, where an old oratory dedicated to Sainte Ruffine stands. From the orientation table, there's a fine panoramic view over the Touyre valley and the Tabe massif.

The Touyre hill is part of the chain known as the Little Pyrenees, which stretches from west to east on the edge of the Ariege Pyrenees. This loop hike takes in the Cap de la Coume and Coulassou ridges, which surround a coume (valley top) curiously formed in this eastern part of the Plantaurel.
